A long Yamaha pathway reaches its finish
Yamaha Motor Europe has confirmed that its partnership with Maxime Renaux has ended after more than ten years. The French rider progressed through the manufacturer’s development structure from youth machinery to factory Grand Prix racing. Yamaha describes the split as the close of a shared era rather than a temporary loan or class change.
The story began on a YZ85
Renaux entered Yamaha’s racing pathway on a YZ85. In 2015 he won the FIM Junior Motocross 125cc World Championship on a YZ125 and added three EMX125 round victories in the same season. Those results established the early part of a progression that later moved into the full World Championship paddock.
The MX2 title was the central achievement
Renaux became a Monster Energy Yamaha factory rider in 2021 and won the MX2 World Championship in that debut factory season. He subsequently stepped into MXGP, extending the same manufacturer relationship into the premier class rather than changing brands at the point of promotion.
Yamaha publishes the closing record
Across the partnership, Yamaha credits Renaux with 19 Grand Prix race wins and 33 podium finishes on its machinery. Those figures cover race wins rather than necessarily 19 overall Grand Prix victories, so Euro MX Community preserves the wording of the official record and does not inflate it.
The next destination remains open
Yamaha confirms the separation after the 2026 season but does not identify Renaux’s next motorcycle, team or contract length. No destination is therefore attached to this briefing. A future seat will be added only when the rider, team, manufacturer or championship publishes it officially.
Facts are frozen to the verification date shown above. Any later correction will be added visibly.
