Skovbjerg moves from EMX250 to the world stage

Nicolai Berg Skovbjerg will make his FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship debut in 2027 as a Ducati factory rider. The Danish racer joins the Beddini Racing Ducati MX2 Factory Team and will race the Desmo250 MX alongside Ferruccio Zanchi.

A runner-up season earns the next step

Skovbjerg finished second in the 2026 EMX250 European Championship. Ducati’s official announcement records three overall victories during that campaign, at the rounds in Sardinia, Belgium and the Netherlands, before confirming his move into the 250cc world championship class.

The signing completes Ducati’s named MX2 pairing

Ducati has confirmed Skovbjerg and Zanchi as the two riders in its Beddini-operated MX2 programme. This is a rider and team confirmation, not a prediction about results: no race numbers, championship target or comparative performance claims are added here.

A factory role on a developing platform

The move places Skovbjerg on Ducati’s Desmo250 MX in the motorcycle’s next full development phase. “Factory rider” identifies his official status within Ducati Corse Off-Road; it does not remove the sporting transition involved in moving from EMX250 to a full MX2 World Championship season.

What remains to be published

The rider, team, class, motorcycle and teammate are confirmed. Ducati has not included a complete 2027 test programme, individual race objectives or a final livery in this announcement. Euro MX Community will keep those details open until primary official information is available.
