A spring fork becomes the technical headline

Husqvarna has unveiled its 2027 FC 450 Factory Edition with a 48mm WP XACT closed-cartridge spring fork. The manufacturer says it selected the design after back-to-back comparisons with air forks involving amateur riders and world-championship competitors. Husqvarna reports better front-end feel, damping consistency and rider confidence; those performance claims still require independent testing.

The chassis loses about half a kilogram

The re-engineered steel frame is approximately 500g lighter and uses revised stiffness characteristics and engine mounts. A new aluminium subframe weighs 1.23kg, while redesigned bodywork narrows the rider contact area. The listed weight without fuel is 105.9kg, with 302.5mm of front suspension travel and 306mm at the rear.

Rear suspension and intake now share the packaging story

The revised WP XACT shock connects through a new linkage and is positioned to support a straighter air intake. Husqvarna combines that layout with a redesigned airbox and top-feed injector in a 44mm Keihin throttle body. Moving the injector upstream is intended to give fuel and air more time to mix before combustion.

The 450 engine changes aim at usable power

The 449.9cc SOHC engine gains an updated cylinder head, revised camshaft timing and a 14.0:1 compression ratio. Husqvarna describes the target as controllable performance rather than peak output alone. A new engine-management system adds faster processing, gear-dependent mapping and knock control that can adjust ignition timing.

The exhaust is built around a newer sound target

Husqvarna says the new exhaust was developed for the latest 109dB FIM limit. Three resonator chambers in the header are intended to manage pressure waves and broaden low-to-midrange torque. The limited FC 450 Factory Edition reaches authorised dealers from December 2026; price and allocation vary by market.
