Yamaha confirms a structural change for 2027

Yamaha Motor Europe has announced a strategic restructuring of its FIM Motocross World Championship programme. The manufacturer confirms that the factory MXGP operation will use a new operating model as the project moves into 2027.

The MXGP programme becomes the focal point

The announcement places the premier MXGP class at the centre of the new structure. Yamaha describes an operational change, not a new motorcycle launch or a completed rider announcement, so this briefing keeps the programme decision separate from any future technical or line-up news.

Factory involvement in MX2 will conclude

Yamaha also confirms that its factory involvement in the MX2 category will end. That wording matters: it states the end of the factory programme and does not, by itself, establish that every privately entered or supported Yamaha must disappear from MX2.

The outgoing MX2 structure had a defined role

Yamaha’s official 2026 team page identifies the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 operation as the development of the former Hutten Metaal EMX250 project, with Karlis and Janis Reisulis on the YZ250FM. That supplies context for the part of the racing structure affected by the decision without extending the announcement beyond its published scope.

Management and riders are still open

Yamaha’s official notice confirms the two programme-level changes but does not complete the 2027 management structure or full rider line-up in the material available today. Euro MX Community will treat those names as separate news only when Yamaha, a team or a rider confirms them directly.
