Kawasaki confirms the partnership is ending

Kawasaki Motors Europe has confirmed that Romain Febvre and the manufacturer are parting after seven MXGP seasons together. The statement closes the partnership but does not name Febvre’s next team, motorcycle or championship programme, so none is inferred here.

The 2025 crown anchors the record

Febvre delivered Kawasaki the 2025 MXGP world title and added championship silver medals in 2021, 2023 and 2026. Kawasaki describes him as its most successful rider of the last thirty years when measured across the full record of their seven-season partnership.

Consistency sits behind the headline numbers

Kawasaki records 65 podium finishes and 29 overall Grand Prix victories for Febvre during the partnership. He started 226 races across 114 Grands Prix and finished 223 of them, a completion rate the manufacturer rounds to 99 percent.

Seven years cover more than one team structure

Febvre worked inside two Kawasaki factory MXGP structures with different management and technical groups. Kawasaki race planning manager Steve Guttridge highlights the rider’s direct racing approach and long-term connection with the KX450-SR rather than assigning the results to one isolated season.

What remains open

The official announcement confirms the separation and the completed Kawasaki statistics. It does not confirm where Febvre will race next or who will take his place. Euro MX Community will treat any future line-up as a separate story only when a rider, team or manufacturer publishes it officially.
