Two factory projects in one season

KOVE and ZXMOTO have both confirmed plans to enter the FIM Motocross World Championship in 2027. Each manufacturer is building a two-bike programme for the premier MXGP class. That makes this more than a badge exercise: both projects need riders, technical crews, European logistics, testing capacity and a motorcycle capable of surviving a complete world championship.

KOVE builds around a long-term plan

KOVE has appointed Tom Steensels as team manager. His task covers development, testing and the construction of the team around a two-machine effort. The manufacturer describes the programme as a long-term factory commitment. Riders and final motorcycle specifications have not been announced, so any claimed line-up should still be treated as unconfirmed.

ZXMOTO arrives with a bike already running

ZXMOTO racing director Jesús Rincón has said the brand's 450cc machine is already running, with development split between China and Europe. The team chose preparation for 2027 over an earlier one-off debut. For MXGP the combined arrival increases manufacturer depth; for both brands the championship becomes a public technical benchmark. The first true comparison will come only when official riders, homologation details and race entries are published.

Why MXGP is a demanding benchmark

A full MXGP season exposes a motorcycle to deep sand, hardpack, heat, altitude and long-distance logistics. Performance is only one part of the test; reliability, parts supply and the speed of technical response decide whether a new project can develop through the year rather than merely appear at the first round.

The unanswered questions

Neither manufacturer has completed the public picture. Rider contracts, final team names, European bases and detailed specifications remain open. Those gaps are normal at this stage, but they are also why Euro MX Community separates confirmed programme facts from paddock expectation. Each new confirmation will be added to this page.
