The Nations returns to Assen

Assen will host the 2027 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations from 8 to 10 October. The event brings national teams rather than regular factory line-ups together for the annual contest for the Chamberlain Trophy. Its position one week after the planned MXGP season finale makes it the closing international motocross weekend of the 2027 calendar.

Why 2019 still defines the venue

The last Assen edition took place in 2019 and became a landmark for the home crowd. Jeffrey Herlings, Glenn Coldenhoff and Calvin Vlaanderen delivered the Netherlands' first Motocross of Nations victory. The return therefore carries more than venue recognition: Dutch supporters come back to the place where the country's long wait ended.

What is confirmed and what comes later

The dates and host are confirmed. Team selections, class entries, timetables and detailed spectator information will follow closer to the event. Euro MX Community keeps the article connected to the event calendar so those additions can be made without creating conflicting pages. Until federations name their riders, projected line-ups remain speculation rather than news.

What makes a Nations weekend different

Three selected riders represent each country across the event’s classes, and combined results determine the national score. That team format changes tactics and pressure compared with a normal Grand Prix. A rider can win individually while the country still loses positions through another result, making depth as important as outright speed.

Assen as an event platform

The TT area provides established access, paddock space and spectator infrastructure, but the motocross track itself is a purpose-built temporary challenge. The 2019 edition proved the scale the venue can carry. The 2027 organisers now have the task of combining that capacity with a course worthy of the world’s strongest national teams.
