A deliberate development move
Nicolò Alvisi has signed a multi-year agreement with Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki and will contest the 2027 EMX250 Championship with the French team. It is a development move rather than a short-term guest ride: the team describes the partnership as a route for Alvisi to keep progressing towards the highest levels of the sport.
A record built through the European classes
Alvisi won the EMX85 European Championship in 2023 and followed it with the EMX125 title in 2025. He stepped into EMX250 in 2026, where the speed, physical load and depth of the field create a major step from the 125 class. That first season supplied the experience; the Bud Racing deal supplies a proven structure for the next phase.
Why Bud Racing is a significant destination
Bud Racing has won two EMX250 titles in the last three seasons: Mathis Valin took the 2024 crown and Francisco García delivered the 2026 championship after winning 17 of 22 races. That recent record explains the attraction for a young rider. The confirmed facts are the contract length, the class and the 2027 start. Bike specification and a full season programme will be added only when formally released.
The pressure of a second EMX250 year
A second season in EMX250 changes the expectation. Learning tracks and the heavier motorcycle is no longer the only objective; consistency, starts and race management begin to define whether a rider is ready for MX2. Bud Racing’s recent results give Alvisi a clear benchmark inside the same structure.
A pathway, not an automatic promotion
The deal points towards long-term development, but it does not guarantee an MX2 seat on a fixed date. Progress will still be measured round by round. That distinction matters because young-rider announcements are often presented as completed career steps when the actual value lies in the work that follows.
