Three youth classes take a European-style step

MXGB Youth has confirmed that its 65cc, 85cc and MXY2 classes will use a race format inspired by the current EMX structure in 2027. The official announcement describes the change as a way to create a more professional competitive environment and give British youth riders experience that mirrors the route toward European-level racing.

What “EMX-inspired” confirms—and what it does not

The series has confirmed the direction of the format, but it has not yet published the complete session timetable, qualification procedure or moto lengths. Those details should not be inferred from other championships. Until MXGB releases the sporting regulations, the accurate description is an EMX-inspired structure for the three named classes.

Five weekends from March to October

The provisional championship contains five two-day rounds: 13–14 March, 24–25 April, 29–30 May, 14–15 August and 2–3 October 2027. The gaps create room for riders and families to combine the domestic series with other racing programmes, although the organiser has not yet attached venues to the dates.

The pathway is the point

MXGB Youth says the purpose is to help developing riders gain experience that resembles the progression into European competition. That makes the format change more than a timetable adjustment: the 65cc, 85cc and MXY2 categories are being used as connected steps in a longer rider pathway.

Provisional means details can still move

The dates are official but provisional and remain subject to changes in the wider MXGB calendar. Venues will be announced later. Euro MX Community will add the locations and detailed race procedure only after MXGB or the ACU publishes them directly.
