Three titles, three different battles
The final day of the 2026 FIM EnduroGP season in Wales produced three confirmed world champions. Andrea Verona secured Enduro2, Steve Holcombe won Enduro3 and Alberto Elgari claimed the Tsubaki Junior Enduro crown. The titles came from different race situations, which makes the result more useful than a simple list of names.
Verona and Holcombe add major milestones
Verona held off Zach Pichon by six seconds after the final test to secure Enduro2 and his ninth FIM Enduro world title. Holcombe recovered from a difficult start to protect his points advantage over Brad Freeman. His Enduro3 crown is the tenth world title of his career and delivered consecutive Enduro3 championships for Sherco.
Elgari converts the junior lead
Alberto Elgari managed the pressure to finish fifth on the day and secure his first FIM Enduro world championship. Leo Joyon won the Welsh junior day, but Elgari's championship position was enough. He also took the Junior1 World Cup, while Romain Dagna won Junior2. The distinction matters: day winners and season champions are not always the same rider.
Why the Welsh finale was difficult
The final tests deteriorated as the day progressed, increasing the cost of small mistakes. Verona’s six-second margin over his title rival shows how little separated success from defeat in Enduro2. Holcombe’s recovery demonstrates the other side of a finale: protecting a points lead even when the opening tests do not go to plan.
The wider championship picture
The Wales weekend closed a seven-round EnduroGP season. Josep García had already secured the overall EnduroGP and Enduro1 titles before the remaining classes were decided. Keeping the categories separate prevents a common reporting error: EnduroGP overall, Enduro1, Enduro2, Enduro3 and Junior each produce distinct champions.
