Guillén closes the title fight with two wins
Daniela Guillén secured the 2026 FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship at the final round in Darwin, Australia. She won both races on the RFME Spain National Team GASGAS, turning a six-point pre-event advantage over Kiara Fontanesi into a 24-point final margin.
Spain has its first WMX world champion
The title is Guillén’s first at world level and the first WMX crown won by a Spanish rider. She completed the championship on 233 points, with Fontanesi second on 209 and Lotte van Drunen third on 177.
Consistency carried the campaign
Across the five-round, ten-race season, Guillén recorded five race victories and three Grand Prix overall wins. The official championship report also records a top-three result in every race, giving the title campaign a consistent base beyond the decisive Australian double.
A long progression reaches the top step
The championship followed second-place WMX finishes in 2023 and 2024 and third in 2025. Those earlier results give context to the progression, but this briefing does not turn past form into a prediction for 2027 or claim details that have not been officially announced.
